 ’.\n\nMore info\nDia Mundial dos Animais de Quinta (2 de outubro): Foi e
 scolhido o dia 2 de outubro em honra de Mahatma Ghandi\, nascido neste dia
 \, que acreditava que todos os seres - do maior aos mais pequenos - deviam
  ser tratados com respeito\, por igual. O objetivo do Dia Mundial dos Anim
 ais de Quinta &eacute\; divulgar as fracas condi&ccedil\;&otilde\;es de vi
 da que os animais de quinta t&ecirc\;m e todas as torturas a que estes ani
 mais s&atilde\;o sujeitos\, tendo em vista mudar esta situa&ccedil\;&atild
 e\;o. Apesar de ser um dia de luta e de mem&oacute\;ria pelo sofrimento e 
 morte anual de 70 mil milh&otilde\;es de animais terrestres criados unicam
 ente para a alimenta&ccedil\;&atilde\;o\, o dia pode ser celebrado de mane
 ira divertida\, levando as crian&ccedil\;as a conhecer animais em quintas 
 e ensinando aos mais pequenos a tratar os animais com amor. Partilhar dado
 s e v&iacute\;deos sobre a realidade do tratamento dos animais de quinta &
 eacute\; uma das op&ccedil\;&otilde\;es que tem para este dia. Esta data &
 eacute\; organizada pelo Movimento dos Direitos dos Animais de Quinta (Far
 m Animal Rights Movement) e todas as iniciativas deste dia podem ser consu

 and juvenile literature\, the respective section organizes a selection of 
 pieces to be borrowed and read at home and shared with the family and the 
 educational community.\nIn October there are two documental exhibitions de
 dicated to the World Farm Animals Day (2 October)\, gathering a set of wor
 ks related with the theme. The Anis Estrelado Library&rsquo\;s exhibition\
 , for children aged up to 9\, explores the theme &ldquo\;Farm Animals: So 
 many and so different!&rdquo\; and the Biblio.Juv exhibition\, for youngst
 ers aged from 10 to 17\, the theme &ldquo\;Alternative food: Am I a vegeta
 rian?&rdquo\;\n\nWorld Farm Animals Day (2 October)\nThe 2 October was cho
 sen to honour Mahatma Ghandi\, on his birthday. He believed that every bei
 ng\, from the largest to the smallest one\, should be treated with respect
 \, as equal.\nThe World Farm Animals Day seeks to make people aware of the
  bad life conditions of farm animals and all the torture they are subject 
 to\, trying to change this reality.\nAlthough it is a day for fighting and
  recalling the yearly suffering and death of 70 thousand million animals c
 reated only for food\, it can be celebrated in a positive and fun way\, le
 ading children to contact with farm animals and teaching them to treat the
 m with love.\nOn this day\, one of the possible activities is to share inf
 ormation and videos on the actual way farm animals are treated. The celebr
 ation of this Day is organized by the Farm Animal Rights Movement and all 
 the initiatives are available on the event&rsquo\;s official website (http

 e&uacute\;nen un conjunto de obras relacionadas con este tema. La exposici
 &oacute\;n de la Biblioteca Anis Estrelado\, para ni&ntilde\;os hasta 9 a&
 ntilde\;os\, plantea el tema &ldquo\;Animales en Granjas: &iexcl\;Hay tant
 os y tan diferentes!&rdquo\; y la exposici&oacute\;n Biblio.Juv\, para j&o
 acute\;venes de los 10 a los 17 a&ntilde\;os\, el tema &ldquo\;Alimentaci&
