  Régio was not only a poet\, essayist\, playwright\, novelist and journal
 ist. He was also a man of firm decisions\, deep thought and inexhaustible 
 inspiration. The creation of the House Museum was made possible thanks to 
 the joint efforts of the Vila do Conde Municipal Council\, the Calouste Gu
 lbenkian Foundation and the writer's family. The contribution of his great
  friend Alberto de Serpa was also decisive\, as he donated important manus
 cripts and drawings to the municipality.\n\nThe exhibition "Régio and Ser
 pa"\, on display at the José Régio Documentation Centre\, highlights thi
