It was built in the 1920s as the atelier of artists Ant\u00f3nio Carneiro (1872-1930) and his son Carlos Carneiro (1900-1971), key figures in Portuguese art, particularly in the Symbolist and Modernist contexts, respectively. Ant\u00f3nio Carneiro’s other son, the composer Cl\u00e1udio Carneyro (1895-1963), also lived here.
