It is the shipbuilding designer’s job to plan and execute the technical project, namely to draw the shapes that will mould the main parts of a ship. The full-scale geometric plan is drawn on a wooden platform on the floor, using rulers and other tools.
The “Vila do Conde – a harbour for the world” project aims to promote the protection of this ancestral art, which is in the hands of the people of Vila do Conde, thus guaranteeing its continuity for future generations.
