Alvarelhos Settlement

The Alvarelhos Settlement is a National Monument, and it is located in the Alvarelhos Parish, Stª. Eufémia Mountains, on a hill at the right side of the village stream.

It is protected within a special protection zone (ZEP) of about 130 acres, what gives us the dimension of this archaeologic station, one of the largest of the peninsular northwestern region.

It underwent several occupation periods, from the late Bronze Age to the Middle Ages, preserving material and architectural remains from those periods.

More info

The access to the archaeologic station is free and there is an interpretive tour enabling visits without a guide and on any day.
