The “Fábrica da Telha” (rooftile factory), as it was commonly called, was founded and began its activity in 1910 under the name of “Empresa Industrial de Ermesinde”, dedicated to the production of Marseille rooftiles and ordinary bricks. After several interventions, this space, which was found abandoned and completely decadent, was acquired by the Valongo City Council, which adapted it to the Cultural Forum.
