Malafaia Roman Hamlet
The Malafaia Roman Hamlet is one of the most important archaeological sites in the Arouca Geopark, representing the living and working part of a small agricultural property dating from the 2nd half of the 1st century of our era. Some time later, during the 3rd century, the residential part of the property underwent extensive remodelling, but was abandoned at the end of the Roman Empire, between the 6th and early 7th centuries, during a period marked by the fall of the empire and the Suevi and Visigoth occupations.
