Museum of Sacred Art

Booking required

This museum was inaugurated on 6 June 1985, during the Corpus Christi festivities, by Bishop Eurico Dias Nogueira. In this space of inestimable value in the study of Sacred Art, framed by the beauty of Vila do Conde’s Main Church, we can find excellent examples of vestments and religious images from the 16th-18th centuries. Its collection includes the Processional Cross from the Chapel of Formariz, the Monstrance (a priceless piece of silver weighing 16 kilos, with 356 aquamarines, some of the first coming from Brazil) and a rosewood chest.
