A Japanese Tale
A Japanese Tale is a performance for all childhoods, inspired by the short story “The Tree” by Sophia de Mello Breyner, which in turn was inspired by an old Japanese tale. A matryoshka of stories that passes through our hands to reach your senses. A Japanese Tale tells the story of a tree sacred to the inhabitants of a small island in Japan and of the relationship between its people and nature, tradition, and the legacy of their ancestors. It also reflects on the impermanence of life and on how everything transforms into everything else, so that what now disappears may nourish what is yet to be born.
