Barananu
Barananu is a sextet from Porto that creates a distinctive blend of jazz, disco and progressive rock through a collective approach to improvisation. The group brings together Eduardo Carneiro Dias (drums), Xavier Nunes (electric bass), João Pedro Dias (trumpet), Fábio Gil (saxophone), José Pedrosa (keyboards) and Fábio Mota (percussion). With influences ranging from local projects such as Sensible Soccers and Bardino to international names such as Badbadnotgood, Boards of Canada and Kamasi Washington, Barananu approaches musical creation with a playful and collaborative spirit.
