The Almeida Garrett Municipal Library is hosting a Franz Kafka evocation, based on the book of the same name by two Czech authors, Radek Maly, poet and translator, and Renáta Fučíková, award-winning illustrator. The exhibition traces the life and work of the Prague-born German-language writer, highlighting his personal traits, linguistic and religious roots, relationships with family members, circle of friends and intellectuals and his places in the fascinating city of Prague. The black ink illustrations convey the harrowing atmosphere present in Kafka's texts as well as the mysterious and oppressive Prague of his time.
