Louis Lui is a musical and choreographic journey in which the body – social, political, sentimental – is a barometer of the present time. In dialogue with the music of Luís Tinoco and Louis Andriessen, choreographer Paulo Ribeiro plays with the composers' own names and the idea of the other. The other who surprises us, the other we may or may not be able to count on, the other who can give us heaven or hell. In the challenge of reflecting on the present, creator and performers evoke what irrevocably connects us to one another, affirming, in bodies traversed by the ‘breath of time,’ the redemptive power of dance.
