The performance of two iconic cello concertos in the same concert is a rare occasion. Performed by one of the rising stars of the music scene, the award-winning Yibai Chen, they combine the almost chamber music approach embodied in Haydn's work with Korngold's cinematic orchestral register, in a concert by the Espinho Classical Orchestra that showcases the great expressive variety of music for cello and orchestra. Mozart's last symphony, a masterpiece that recapitulates and synthesises Viennese Classicism, complements the programme on a night of great music in which soloist and orchestra will shine.
