Tango, the traditional music and dance born in the streets of Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Montevideo (Uruguay) at the end of the 19th century, will be the centrepiece of this Unexpected Show. Integrating European polka, Cuban havanera, Uruguayan candombé and Spanish milonga into its roots, it will be up to the La Ideal Orchestra and the voice of Joana Manarte to explore what is considered to be the purest style of Argentine tango. But because tango without dance is not tango, it will be up to La Ideal and Amigos das Danças to explore the variations of street tango and ballroom tango in a show full of drama, passion and sensuality.
