Rossana
London-based Portuguese artist Rossana presents her second studio album, “À La Portugaise”, which marks a new path in her career. Following on from “The Entertainer”, “À La Portugaise” reveals a real opening up to the world. If previously there was a great complicity with the sounds of London, this album is an exploration of a universal musical language. This openness, far from representing a move away from Portuguese roots, has proved to be an opportunity to rediscover them from a new perspective.
More info
The Brandão de Vasconcelos Square is located in the heart of the historical centre of the village of Arouca, where, on Sundays, people would gather, either passing through or in the shade of the lime trees, around the fountain that once stood in the centre of the square. This square has undergone more than one renovation, the last one taking place in 2012 as part of an urban regeneration project, when the foundations of the old Church of São Bartolomeu, the public cemetery and a sheltered space for pilgrims and market traders were identified. The square's current layout is amphitheatre-shaped, with the fountain at one end. This Sounds in Heritage Sites' concert will be happening during the 14th edition of the ARouca Chestnut Festival, which takes place from October 24 to 26. The festival aims to celebrate chestnut trees and chestnuts, honey, and mushrooms, promoting their production and encouraging their use in regional cuisine.
