A singer, songwriter, composer, performer and, at times, actress, Selma Uamusse was born in 1981 in Maputo, Mozambique, and has been based in Portugal since 1988. She is a Mozambican migrant who turned her back on an engineering degree and has now made her mark in various aspects of music in the country she has chosen to call home. In this concert, in collaboration with the Benjamim Project, her voice and body will form the starting point for working with the students, highlighting the importance of the body in African culture, traditional Mozambican rhythms and movement as a language.
