The Pearl by John Steinbeck

The Pearl is a poetic parable about the greatness and misery of the world. A contradictory world, objectified in the ambiguities between poverty and wealth, power and dispossession, human and more-than-human. Based on Steinbeck's novel of the same name, a narrative originating from a traditional Mexican tale, we learn about what is known as the "pearl of the world" and its interference in the life of a family of fishermen in search of a better life.
