Taking inspiration from what would become the title of his book – Árvores São Casas de Pássaros (Trees Are Birds’ Nests) – the poet José Efe asked twenty authors and artists to bring a tree to life. And so, through painting, drawing, collage and graphic art, a small grove emerged, comprising forty distinct trees – plus one more, intended for the book’s cover – for which the poet wrote forty poems. Bearing the same name, the book was born, as was an exhibition, which is now on display at Casa Antero de Quental.
