Inspired by One Thousand and One Nights, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade evokes the wrath of a vengeful sultan and the brilliance of a queen whose stories stave off death. In this concert, we hear a symphonic band arrangement that retains the vivid colour and opulence of the original score, showcasing the remarkable versatility of this ensemble.
