On the day dedicated to Our Lady of Vandoma, the Porto Cathedral will host a concert in honour of the city’s patron saint, blending contemporary music, spirituality and the city’s musical heritage. Organised by the Porto City Council, the Cabido Portucalense and the Orquestra do Norte, the concert brings together two notable works from the contemporary repertoire: "Cantus in Memorian Benjamin Britten" by Arvo Pärt and "The Protecting Veil" by John Tavener. The performance will be given by the Orquestra do Norte, conducted by Maestro Pedro M. Monteiro, with cellist Fernando Costa as soloist.
