The Coliseu Porto opens its 2025 opera season with the "Die Fledermaus", by Johann Strauss II. Premiered in 1874 in Vienna, directed by the composer himself, this opera has achieved a permanent place in the world repertoire. At the Coliseu, the Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa will perform "Die Fledermaus" in full in all its splendor, with a talented cast of soloists. Set on New Year's Eve, it celebrates the music that made the heart of the Austrian capital pulse with waltzes, czardas (Hungarian popular dance) and melodies that still enchant us today.
