Classicism was characterised by profound changes in the orchestra. The introduction of the clarinet as a solo and orchestral instrument reflects these changes. In this concert, the Espinho Classical Orchestra presents emblematic works from this period. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Symphony No. 40 is paradigmatic of the experimentalism of Viennese Classicism. The Concerto for Two Clarinets, No. 2, op. 91 explores the soloistic capabilities of the instrument, highlighting it through classical virtuosity. A concert bringing together generations of soloists: conductor and clarinettist António Saiote and young clarinettist Eduardo Seabra.
