fimp is also a place to revisit tradition, and no edition of the festival would be complete without Dom Roberto—one of the major expressions of Portuguese puppet theatre heritage. Recognised since 2021 as part of Portugal’s Intangible Cultural Heritage, this genuine national hero is also a member of the distinguished Eurasian family of glove puppets. With his inhuman voice and always ready to use his slapstick, Dom Roberto promises to taunt and entertain children of all ages.
