João Tavares Quinteto
The João Tavares Quintet brings together five young musicians from the new generation of Portuguese jazz in a project centred on the creation and performance of original music. Led by the trumpeter João Tavares, from Oliveira, the quintet was honoured at the 6th International Jazz Competition at the University of Aveiro with the awards for Best Ensemble and Best Arrangement, cementing its reputation as one of the most promising emerging acts on the national scene.
