Conductor Michael Sanderling returns to the House for a program filled with great orchestral works. In Manfred Symphony, Tchaikovsky draws on a poem by Lord Byron to describe the romantic figure and tormented spirit of the protagonist, passing through bucolic scenes and culminating in a hellish orgy.
