Having started studying Portuguese guitar at the age of 10, Miguel Martins was a student of some of the leading masters of the instrument, such as Artur Caldeira, Paulo Soares and Custódio Castelo, under whose coordination he completed his degree. In 2018, he was one of the new talents of Portuguese guitar presented by Casa da Música, a place where he returns today, now as a certainty for the present and the future.
