mutu, a project from Braga formed in 2020, is a heterogeneous quartet in terms of the tastes and influences of its elements. From electronics to traditional music, from jazz to psychedelics, from fado to post-rock, all combine in a musically modern and minimalist fabric, topped by a voice that evokes a former Portuguese way of being, conveying messages that appeal to a critical sense about important social problems.
More info
Established in 1845, the Fábrica de Fiação e Tecidos do Rio Vizela (spinning and weaving mill) was the country’s first spinning mill. It grew to become one of the region’s most important and thriving companies, employing over three thousand people at its peak. It operated across the entire textile sector, including spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing and garment manufacturing. Regarded as the heart of the Vale do Ave textile industry and the main driving force behind the economic and social development of the municipality of Santo Tirso, it was the key factor in bringing the railway to this area.
