When he discovered that the guitar called “viola campaniça” was a cross between urbanity and traditional roots music, João Morais, who had previously been involved in punk rock, created the project “O Gajo”, inspired by world music and the exploration of various latitudes. His music was recognised last year with the ‘Mais Alentejo’ prize and this year with the INATEL prize from the Iberian Festival Awards.
