There was a place in Piche, in the east of the territory which at the time was called Portuguese Guinea and is now known as Guinea-Bissau, which belonged to a Lebanese man called Toufic, where the Portuguese soldiers stationed at the Piche barracks during the war would sometimes go to eat and drink in their spare time. These moments were captured on camera by several soldiers, including Sobral Centeno, who had the photographs printed and passed them from hand to hand over the years.
