Som da Rua is an inclusive ensemble, always open to new members, composed of people who know the harsh reality of life on the streets. Formed in 2009 as part of a partnership between the Educational Service and institutions in Greater Porto, this orchestra has consolidated its artistic and social value year after year, thanks to weekly work on a vast repertoire, mostly created by the collective of participants. In the first session of the project, four people attended, composing the song "Desejo de Viver" (Desire to Live) together. Sixteen years later, many more join in to sing, with the natural joy of those who reap the music they have sown.
