The exhibition “Rural Life in Espinho” invites visitors to discover a past in which the land, the sea and local communities were deeply and harmoniously intertwined. Before the urban and tourist growth that characterises Espinho today, the municipality was marked by a strong rural presence, where agriculture played an essential role in families’ livelihoods. The exhibition "'Xávega' (trawl fishing) Art in Espinho" celebrates one of the most iconic traditions of the Portuguese coastline. This exhibition combines art, memory and local identity, introducing the public to the way of life of fishing communities.
