This dance performance is a site-specific choreographic creation that draws on the processes of the hat-making industry to explore the body as a space of memory, transmission and encounter. Inside the Hat Museum, where hands once shaped felt and gestures drew forms, the body returns as living archival matter. Amidst machines, moulds and memories, performers from Improve – Escola de Dança inhabit the space and allow themselves to be permeated by the sounds of the place: the mechanical cadence, the weight of the craft, the precision of the artisanal work.
