This year’s edition showcases the works recognised by an independent international jury, selected from among 57,376 photographs submitted by 3,747 photographers from 141 countries. The images tackle some of today’s most pressing issues, including armed conflicts, the climate crisis and the exercise of power, whilst also highlighting stories of resistance, reconstruction and resilience that reveal humanity’s capacity to face adversity.
