The Famalicão Fado Competition (Concurso de Fado de Famalicão), which she won in 2014, marked Sara Sousa’s first encounter with fado. However, it was only later that her passion truly took root. She went on to win other competitions and is now a resident performer at two iconic venues in Porto: the fado house Mal Cozinhado and Casa da Guitarra.
