21:00 - Guided visit “Literati and Visitors and their relationship with the Church of Vila do Conde” - a free tour (in Portuguese) that aims to reveal the history of the Church of Vila do Conde through written accounts left by literary figures with a connection to the city. The Church of Vila do Conde is one of the most emblematic national monuments in the city and also one of the most significant in the D. Manuel style in Portugal. Its construction was given a fundamental boost when King Manuel I passed through Vila do Conde in 1502, defining the layout of the church, granting a subsidy and creating a tax for it. Highlights include the heavily decorated portico, whose authorship is attributed to João de Castilho, as well as the bell tower, built in 1573 by João Lopes, O Velho.
